He is the first-generation entrepreneur and a visionary who started
Emcure in 1981 with the purpose to provide affordable and high
quality healthcare to patients to significantly improve their lives.
Under Mr. Mehta’s leadership, Emcure has become a well-respected
name in the global pharma market with its presence in more than 75
countries through its subsidiaries in UK, Canada, Singapore, Brazil
and other countries employing more than 9,000 employees across the
world.
Mr. Mehta is the prime mover for growth plans of the company. With
him at the helm, Emcure, today, is engaged in developing,
manufacturing and marketing a broad range of pharmaceutical products
globally. The company has world-class infrastructure, skills and
resources with facilities approved by foreign drug regulatory
authorities of various countries incl. USA, Europe, Russia,
Australia and Brazil. Emcure’s strengths span from research to the
manufacturing of APIs, Formulations and Biotechnology.
Emcure’s strong R&D capabilities include 5 research centers and over
500 well trained scientists have helped the company become a
front-runner in introducing differentiated molecules like Ferrous
Ascorbate, Ferric carboxy maltose, S-amlodipine, S-metoprolol,
Eribulin, Tenecteplase, Pegaspargase, Dolutegravir and its
combination, many of which were first time in Indian market. Mr.
Mehta is also instrumental in Emcure entering into strategic
alliances with MNCs to bring world-class products to the Indian
market at affordable prices.
Emcure’s CSR initiatives always have a unique approach to impact
society in numerous ways – Emcure sets up medical camps and sponsors
surgeries for the underprivileged, it continues to sponsor several
students for their education at primary and post-graduate level and
has adopted villages to promote education and raise awareness about
environmental sustainability. Through Mr. Mehta’s active
initiatives, Emcure has also created forums for empowerment of women
employees under PRERNA and skill development initiative under NEEM
scheme.
With Mr. Mehta’s guidance and leadership, Emcure continues its
upward trend and goal of providing effective medicines at affordable
prices along with having a broader impact on the society.

Mr. Satish Mehta is a Postgraduate in Chemistry from the Pune
University and has a PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management) from
the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A).
