Post her 6-year stint at Guidant Corporation, USA, she joined Emcure
as CFO and subsequently her responsibilities grew to managing
Emcure’s largest business unit, the Domestic Business.
Ms. Thapar has played an instrumental role to drive Emcure’s growth
in the domestic business being actively involved in consolidating
the market share of leading brands and quick scale up of newly
introduced brands. She has played a vital role to increase doctor
engagement, improving field force productivity and driving Emcure’s
rise in the high-growth therapeutic areas. She has also been at the
forefront of Emcure’s technology initiatives focusing on data
analytics and sales force effectiveness.
Ms. Thapar is passionate about improving women’s health in India and
promoting youth entrepreneurship. She has taken concrete steps to
move the needle on both.
• During the Covid pandemic, she launched a unique YouTube talk show
on women’s health called Uncondition Yourself with Namita which aims
to provide authentic information and break stigmas and taboos
associated with women’s health and urges women to prioritize their
health
• Incredible Ventures Ltd, an education company that teaches
entrepreneurship to 11 -18 year olds in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore,
Pune, Chennai and Ahmedabad has been in existence for 5+ years and
about 1000+ young students have gone through this life-shaping
experience so far
• At Emcure under the banner of "PRERNA" large number of women
empowerment initiatives are conducted, exclusively for women
Emcureans which include Speaker series by prominent women
personalities, Training programs, Networking lunch with senior women
leaders and Other activities
Ms. Thapar is a recipient of various prestigious corporate awards
such as The Economic Times ‘40 under Forty’ award, Barclays Hurun
Next Gen Leader recognition, Economic Times 2017 Women Ahead List,
World Women Leadership Congress Super Achiever award.
She is a part of various government initiatives such as 'Women
Entrepreneurship Platform' and 'Digital Health Task Force' by NITI
Aayog and ‘Champions of Change’ program initiated by PM Narendra
Modi for G2B partnership in policymaking.
Ms. Thapar serves as a Board Member on the India Regional Advisory
Board of Fuqua School of Business, as a trustee on TiE Mumbai Board
of Trustees, and is also an active member of Young Presidents
Organization. She has been a speaker at various prestigious forums
such as Harvard Business School, Indian Institute of Management
(IIM- A), ET women’s conference, FICCI etc.
Ms. Thapar is an MBA graduate from the Fuqua School of Business and
a Chartered Accountant from ICAI.
