This Lakme lipstick is the next best thing (and a far cheaper alternative) to the Mac Ruby Woo. Some would call it a true red, others would spot a slight orange undertone. Would look great on warm, medium skin tones.

According to me, the best red lipstick for your skin tone is one that doesn’t require any preparations. The kind of red shade that you can just put on without any foundation makeup. Maybe a tinted moisturiser to even out your overall skin tone, but that’s it. My advice is to look for a red lipstick that doesn’t make your natural complexion look chalky, pale or pallid.
On that note, I felt that the choices were limited when it came to finding the right red lipstick shade for dusky skin tones like mine. On the other hand, medium and fair skin tones with warm undertones have plenty to choose from. The Lakme 9 to 5 lipstick range consists of mostly bright, pop colors. There were few deep reds and no real wines. I mean, which girl doesn’t love a mesmerising deep wine red lipstick shade? Especially in this Lakme lipstick range that’s supposed to cover your morning and evening looks.
