Why Eating Healthy Can Spice Up Your Life

In today’s age of free home deliveries and drive-throughs, it is very easy to relax, sit back and enjoy the yummiest food every time you experience hunger pangs. But here’s the thing. While pretty convenient, in most cases, its not in your best interest really. But its not possible for you to carry home-made food every day. Or to cook it in the first place, you might say. What do you do?

Well, you could sneak in little things that can make all the difference in your diet! Say, carry fruits with you, or drink more water instead of diet cokes or “sugar-free” juices. But the bigger question, is why? Why should we go to all this effort?

Become More Productive: Remember how all those pakoras and heavy foods make you drowsy? That is where quality comes in. You brain needs nutritious food to function at its best! So start with a high protein diet in the morning, and ensure that the rest of your meals in the day are not heavy and are rather high fiber and low carb meals.

Say Cheeeeese: You eating habits have an impact on your moods. For instance, bananas contain 0 milligrams of dopamine, a chief mood booster in the brain. Pomegranate juice can lower blood pressure, anxiety, and depression. There are tons of mood-boosting foods out there. Give them a try! Also, these ensure that you have a high fiber diet, which is extremely beneficial for your digestive system.

Loose The Stress, Buddy!: Proteins are your body’s gold. In times of stress and war, it breaks down protein to prepare for battle. Would you like to go for a battle without any armor? Attend an office meeting without the energy to argue your point effectively? Well, then suit up! Sneak in some fish, dairy products and foods with packed with vitamin C, omega-3 fatty acids and magnesium in your meals. Or drink a glass of green tea – people who consume more than a glass daily are proven to have 20% lower psychological stress levels! So, ensure you at least have one meal with a high protein diet, ideally your breakfast.

Control Your Weight: Believe it or not, this one’s the simplest to achieve. Little acts, such as replacing soda with water, eating a fruit chaat instead of chips, refusing the fries, eating little meals of fruits in case of ‘choti wali bookh’ etc are all that’s needed. Also, avoiding soft drinks, chips or those darkly tempting desserts can save you a lot of money. Remember, when it comes to how to lose weight at home, following a low calorie diet plan is equally important!

Age Gracefully: Bid goodbye to all the Botox treatments in the future. Fruits & veggies have enough antioxidants that can help protect your skin from ageing and keep it hydrated. And the best part? They lend your skin and hair that extra glow that the cosmetics industry so earnestly tries to provide to millions of people! And all at less than half the cost, which is why we cannot stress enough on the importance of a high fiber diet. Apart from being great for you in general, it also serves as a detox diet to cleanse your body.

Be Healthier: In the long term, your lifestyle is going to catch up with you. Missing out on too much of vitamins and nutrients can prove to be harmful in your older years. Some estimates say at least 30% of cancers are linked to poor diet. So, rectify any lack of nutrients/minerals/vitamins as soon as possible!

Live Longer: Think of eating healthy food as an investment that only brings you profits. Can anyone resist such a deal? And the more you invest? The more the time in your hands to live and laugh over with your friends and family!

While the benefits are clearly too many to ignore, are you still feeling daunted by the task at hand? Yes, we understand that ensuring that you follow a high fiber, high protein, low calorie, low fat diet plan for weight loss or maintaining a general level of health, is not easy.
