Heena Gaur is a software engineer by profession and a foodie by admission. A passionate travel and a writer, here she flexes her writing skills to share the experience she had with UrbanClap on Diwali…
I heard of UrbanClap this year when Diwali was just around the corner. Being the most enthusiastic person, especially on the festivals, it somehow becomes my responsibility to make all the arrangements. I am always the one making 10 trips a day to get things done from sweets to decorations to cleaning and what not!
Diwali is just as fun for me as it is for the shopkeepers who are looking to make good money because customers are really happy at this time and are ready to spend, especially for the electricians. They become like these mystical creatures who you can hardly catch hold of, they’ll never answer your call let alone calling back. I remember calling and taking appointments with them just so they can come to my house and all I got was average lights for a hefty quotation! Every year I just about manage to get the lights on the D-day, never a few days in advance.
This time, I thought of trying a new way of getting services through an app called UrbanClap. I submitted the request sitting in my office & within a couple of hours I received calls from two service providers who would visit my house and get the lights done. The very next day the guy visited my home with his lights, extra wires etc. and it was done two days before Diwali! This Diwali, I was at peace.
Talk about customer satisfaction, one of the founders contacted me to check if I was satisfied with the lights and the decoration. I was impressed with the attention to detail and the personal touch they offer to the customers. They are not a business out to just make money. They know what their customers want, and go out of their way to make it happen.
The next thing that came to my mind was how trustworthy the other services could be? I found the answer pretty soon. Some of my friends who have used their services are satisfied and didn’t have any problem. Looks like these guys have worked hard to scrutinize the professionals’ background before they get them on board. So I say give it a go and experience it yourself. Be an UrbanClapper!

Heard a lot about Urban Clap, never really got around to use it. After reading about the customer oriented nature of service, certainly will be on top of my mind to check the next time.
This app truly sounds like a one that makes your life easier, and keeps you happy and content at the end. Will definitely try it some day.
