Are Floral Kalires The Next Big Wedding Trend?

It seems like floral kalire designs (made out of real flowers!) are the next big trend at Indian weddings!

Last year, bride Natasha Arora, wore floral kalire designs to her wedding in the US and every wedding publication covered the fresh new idea!

While brides have been wearing floral jewellery designs on their Mehendi functions for a few years now, floral kalire designs have not been done before. So when Natasha, ex Miss India USA,  chose to pair her baby pink lehenga with floral kalire worn on one hand, we started to wonder if this will be the next big wedding trend.

Kalires come in a variety of shapes and sizes, but are mostly gold in colour, with stone work and now pom-poms being added to them. Wearing a pair made out of flowers is a unique idea! Natasha’s white floral kalire included white roses and jasmine flowers, and were a statement piece of jewellery with the outfit.

A wedding stylist company, Bridelan, recently launched their Spring Summer 2018 look with a bride wearing yet another pair of flower kalires!

This bride is wearing floral kalire on both hands, and they’re more delicate with smaller flowers. Once again, the white flowers have been paired with a pastel lehenga (by Anamika Khanna) and a mustard dupatta adds a pop of colour to the look. Note how they’ve used haath phool and rings (by Birdhichand Jewellers) generously to add glamour to the otherwise simple kalire.

Brides, floral kalire look absolutely beautiful, and it’s an idea we’re really loving at the moment. We haven’t spotted any other real brides wearing these yet but can only imagine it won’t be long before more of you pick up this idea. Remember: if you’re going for white flower kalire designs, pair it with a pastel outfit for the perfect bridal look!
