While everyone’s talking about Deepika’s unibrow in the Padmavati posters, all we can see is the next hot bridal look! Like Aishwarya Rai’s look in Jodha Akbar made waves in the wedding industry when it came out, Deepika’s look is definitely going to get saved in bride’s planners this year. We’re crushing on the gorgeous jewellery, and how the traditional style can look so damn glamorous. Brides, take notes! Here’s what you can steal from Ms Padukone’s movie avtaar.
Borlas have been trending for a while now, but Deepika takes it to the never level with the double borla! Also loving the broad mathapattis the borla has been paired with for a seriously royal look.
For a brazen princess style, the glass temple necklace and the stunning red choker worn in the posters are absolute winners. Apparently the motto has changed to “more is more” with all that layering!
Bajubandhs are typically worn around the arm with a sleeveless or short sleeved blouse, but Deepika’s character keeps it conservative by adorning it over long-sleeved blouses.
Some modern brides have been moving towards lighter naths, but the heavy ones pulled off here are giving us #NathGoals! While they’re ornate, we think that the determined bride will find that the prettiness is worth the pain.
Bangles and kadas are essential jewellery pieces for a bride but adding a gorgeous haath phool to your look can take it to the next level. While they’ve been trending for a while, this one takes every piece of hand jewellery available together and creates yet another place where “more is more”.
Your royal look will be incomplete without the right earrings. Two favourites of ours from the look are the bold disc earrings and jhumar earrings. You can also wear a heavy jhumka to pair with your necklace.
What We’re Saying Is…
The look is perfect for you if you have a destination wedding in Rajasthan or a royal theme for your wedding event. If you want to go all out and put on everything that’s on Deepika, go for it! But make sure you balance it with minimal makeup.
If, on the other hand, you think this is “too much” for you, pick and choose one or two statement pieces and go delicate in the other areas.
Where to Get the Look
Tanishq has created all the jewellery for this period drama movie, but there are other places where you could find something similar. Amrapali has you covered on the glass temple jewellery. Purab Paschim by Ankit Khullar in Defence Colony, Preeti Mohan and Suhana Art Jewels in Shahpur Jat are other great options to find such jewellery or get custom made jewellery.
The outfits are by Rimple & Harpreet Narula, and we’ve spotted similar styles at Anju Modi and Swati Ubroi in the past – so you can check out what’s in their latest collection as well.
