Inspect the <\/b>wall<\/b><\/h3>\n

Before starting with your painting process, make sure to check the walls of your room to see if there are cracks, dents, holes, or any surface imperfections. Use a lightweight spackling compound and a putty knife to fill and repair any imperfections, then remove the excess putty from it and wait to dry. Once it has dried up, use a very fine sandpaper to smoothen the area and then wipe the walls clean with a sponge or damp towel. <\/span><\/p>\n

Painter\u2019s Tape<\/b><\/h3>\n

Mask the <\/span>room<\/span> with painter\u2019s tape and apply your tapes in short overlapping strips, pressing down firmly on the edge.<\/span><\/p>\n

Drop cloth and Remove switch covers<\/b><\/h3>\n

Spread a large drop cloth over the floor and tape the edges down to protect it. Try removing all the big<\/span> furnitures <\/span>in the <\/span>room<\/span> to avoid stains. You could even cover them well if taking them off seems difficult. Do not forget to take off all the light switches and plug outlet covers in the<\/span> room and if not, seal them with a tape<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cutting in the <\/b>room<\/b> with primer<\/b><\/h3>\n

Cutting in basically means outlining the <\/span>room<\/span> with a primer to create few inches of bands around the edges of the <\/span>walls<\/span> where they meet ceilings, baseboards, other <\/span>walls<\/span>, <\/span>doors<\/span> and <\/span>window frames<\/span>. After this you can simply stroke the walls with the primer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sand and clean<\/b><\/h3>\n

Once the primer has dried out, lightly sand away bumps or any uneven surface to smoothen the layer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Heat gun<\/b><\/h3>\n

Point the heat gun close to the stain, this will soften the <\/span>paint<\/span>. Simultaneously, gently scratch the <\/span>paint layers<\/span> using a putty knife. With a damp rag, wipe the affected area.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rubbing alcohol<\/b><\/h3>\n

Scrape off as much <\/span>paint<\/span> as you can using a bladed tool, then soak a rag in rubbing alcohol. Apply the cloth directly to the stain and rub until the stain is not visible.<\/span><\/p>\n
